Wetroom Materials supplied and installed the waterproofing to the rooms, allowing the main contractor to provide their clients with a 10 year no leak guarantee. Not only does this provide peace of mind for the customer, but also for the main contractor that the work has been carried out correctly and there will be no issues.

The Challenge

The American architect, Richard Meier, planned Handsmooth House for an anonymous client, and it was designed around minimalist and contemporary design concepts.

Specific to the site of the house and the related buildings, the design seeks to integrate the landscape and views as part of its identity, bringing a natural balance between building and landscape. Considering this approach, a clean and minimal design would have to be achieved throughout the entire house, including the bathroom and shower spaces, and would not draw attention away from the property’s natural surroundings.

The Solution

Wetroom Materials were able to offer the perfect drainage solution for such a project. The HighLine Custom is a sleek and discreet drainage finish that allows the material of the finished floor to run onto the drain and leave only a slim drainage gap that serves the functional purpose of the drain.

The finished floor choice within the shower areas was a white Corian material, a finish that provides an impossibly clean and bright surface; perfectly suited to the property that was finished with white interior walls and external white render.
