WM | Wetroom Materials offers the SharpSlope® collection, a series of wet room kits designed to deliver leak-free and visually appealing shower solutions. These kits are tailored for architects, builders, and commercial projects aiming for reliable waterproofing and sophisticated design. 

Each SharpSlope® kit includes a preformed wet room tray with an integrated stainless steel drain, a sealed gasket, a 50mm water seal, construction glue, and a flexible waterproofing kit.

All components are backed by a 10-year guarantee and can be trimmed to fit specific project dimensions.

This kit enables the creation of a wet room with level access at four entry points, featuring four slopes directing water towards a linear drain. The drain is available in various finishes, including brushed stainless steel, black, brass, nickel, and bronze, allowing seamless integration with the surrounding tiles for a minimalist aesthetic. The preformed tray ensures efficient drainage, preventing water pooling, while the 50mm water seal keeps unpleasant odours at bay.

Compatible with both concrete and wooden floors, the kit supports a drainage capacity of 36 litres per minute and accommodates tile thicknesses starting from 8mm.

Unlike many comparable wet room kits that use plastic linear drains, all SharpSlope Linear systems incorporate a high-quality stainless steel drain. Stainless steel offers greater durability and won't crack under normal use, providing a more robust long-term solution. The drain is also sealed to the surrounding tray using waterproof gaskets at both the upper and internal interfaces, creating a durable, watertight connection. What is the structural strength of the SharpSlope tray and is it suitable for heavy tiling?

The SharpSlope tray combines a water-repellent extruded polystyrene core with a reinforced cementitious surface, creating a strong, dimensionally stable base suitable for direct tiling, including large-format and heavier floor tiles. The tray is designed to distribute loads evenly across the supporting floor structure, helping provide a durable, long-lasting installation.On suspended timber floors, the tray must always be fully supported by a solid subfloor, such as 18mm plywood installed between the joists. The tray is not designed to span joists unsupported, so correct subfloor preparation is an essential part of the installation.

What drain finishes are available across the SharpSlope range?

The SharpSlope range is available with a wide choice of contemporary drain finishes, including brushed stainless steel, black, brass, nickel, bronze and copper. Durable PVD-coated options offer excellent resistance to fading and tarnishing, while tile-insert covers allow the surrounding floor tiles to continue across the drain for a clean, minimalist appearance.

Are SharpSlope kits available without the waterproofing system for projects where tanking is already specified?

Yes. SharpSlope kits are available either with or without the waterproofing (tanking) system, allowing you to specify the option that best suits your project.If a compatible tanking system has already been specified as part of the wider waterproofing strategy, you can choose the tray and drain kit without the membrane and accessories. Alternatively, selecting the complete kit provides a fully compatible waterproofing system designed to work with the SharpSlope tray, helping to simplify specification and installation.If you're unsure which option is appropriate for your project, it's worth checking the waterproofing specification before ordering to ensure all components are compatible.
