SoulCycle is part of the new activity taken over the health and fitness world – spinning. SoulCycle provides a state-of-the-art experience for all clients, from bikes and exercise machines, bold and vibrant interior décor, to the facility’s changing and shower areas functionality. One of the most iconic indoor cycling brands in the US opened its first studio in London in 2019. Wetroom Materials supplied linear and point drainage to SoulCycle’s numerous studios across London.

The challenge

As SoulCycle has developed and grown its brand, it has an expectation to provide an excellent experience to its clients. This includes not only the service they provide, but the quality of the facilities themselves.

WM | Wetroom Materials were asked to provide a drainage solution for the shower areas in the commercial project. The drains had to meet the aesthetic, functionality and durability that would be demanded of them by such a project.

There was little space within the floor build up for the drainage to be placed, which also required a large capacity in order to take the large volume of water that would be displaced by the commercial shower areas. Not only this, but the time frame that was suggested was extremely quick and WM had to act fast to provide a solution that fit the criteria of the build.

The solution

WM worked closely with the appointed fitout company to present a drainage solution to the client that would meet the requirements of the challenging project.

A singular drainage option would not be suited to be installed throughout the project; therefore, multiple drainage options were used to best match the requirements of each individual shower area. This was achieved by Wetroom Materials providing its expert knowledge during the entire specification and installation process to ensure the best solution was provided across the project.

In addition, WM | Wetroom Materials created the falls in the showers using a specialist wet room screed and installed waterproofing membranes to the showers and changing rooms. With this, the client was able to take advantage of our 10 Year no leak guarantee.

With over 50 spinners, and classes every 45 minutes, the performance and longevity of the shower facilities are essential, so only the best products and installation methods were suitable.
