The challenge
Working with the main contractor, WM | Wetroom Materials were asked to provide high quality bespoke linear floor drain solution for commercial wet rooms. The objective was to create a reliable and efficient wet room system to ensure durability and longevity. The project was undertaken outside of normal working hours to limit disruption to the work force.
The main contractor, sought a specialist supplier and the primary requirements were:
Vinyl Drain: The drains needed to be made of high-quality hardwearing stainless steel to resist corrosion, abrasion, and chemical exposure. The drains had to be made to a specific size, easy to clean and efficiently channel water to the drainage system, preventing any water stagnation or leakage issues.
The solution
WM collaborated closely with the client’s project manager and architect to understand the project requirements, site conditions, and specific challenges. This collaborative approach helped ensure that the selected drains, and waterproofing solutions would meet the client’s expectations.
As the shower floor was constructed in wood, WM specified and provided a bespoke length Unidrain vinyl drains which is suitable for commercial wet room applications. Unidrain Vinyl is designed to efficiently remove water while maintaining a visually appealing appearance. The drain was supplied in a length of 3m to accommodate the specific needs of multiple drainage outside of the designated shower areas.
WM worked closely with the client’s plumbing contractor to ensure proper installation of the vinyl drain. They provided detailed installation guidelines and technical support to ensure that the drains were installed correctly and integrated seamlessly with the overall drainage system.
All WM products are complied with industry standards and regulations, offering long-lasting performance and reducing the need for future repairs and maintenance.
